Principal Update
It is hard to believe that September is almost over as time is flying by. We have had a great start up to the school year with many events happening for our students. Here are a few highlights from our first month of the 2026-2027 school year.
- Grade 9 Day - thank you to our senior students for organizing a fantastic day and thank you to Clear Water for donating a truck load of water for our slip and slide!
- Terry Fox - We raised over $3100 for Cancer Research! Thank you to our Rec Leadership students for facilitating this initiative.
- Club Carousel - At lunch following the Terry Fox Run, students enjoyed a free cookie courtesy of Student Council and were able to visit different clubs offered at SHS. We have SHS Band Club, Trivia Club, eSports, Robotics, Outdoors Club, Games Club, P7, and more!
- Our own SHS Colton Dee qualified in golf for EOSSA, good luck to Colton next week on the links!
- Picture Day was Sept. 22, and yearbooks are already on School-Day for purchase.
Upcoming Dates
Sept. 29 - Level Up Career Fair (for grade 10 careers/civics students)
Sept. 30 - National Day for Truth and Reconciliation - wear Orange to show support
Oct. 7 - Parent/Guardian Night 6:30 - 8:30 PM (sign up on School-Day opens tomorrow at noon)
Oct. 9 - Academic Awards from 2025-2026 School Year - 1:30 PM Main Gym - Families will receive an email with a formal invitation if their student is being recognized.
Oct. 12 - Thanksgiving Holiday
Oct. 14 - SHS BINGO
Oct. 16 - Photo Retakes

Drama Production
Coming this December, SHS Students will be putting on the production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory! We can't wait to share more details as we get closer, please save the dates Dec. 2 to 4th!
