  • Join us Thursday, March 12, 6:45 p.m. at Queen's University, Duncan McArthur Hall to hear special guest Monique Gray Smith. Of Cree-Lakota-Scottish heritage, she will talk to us about caring for the land and building connections with one another. This event is free for you and your family. - Wallace 

 

  • Jr Boys Soccer team tryouts are happening soon! If you have not signed up yet, please come see Mr. Shibley ASAP before it is too late! 

 

  • Calling all actors or anyone interested in trying acting for the first time! The SHS spring play is happening on May 6, 7, and 8. Auditions for our production of the comedy "The Day the Internet Died" will take place on Wednesday and Thursday after school in the drama room. Look for posters with a QR code to be posted around the school. If you have any questions, email or talk to Ms. Keene in the English office next to room 217. We can't wait to see you at auditions!  Please sign up no later than Wednesday! - Keene 

 

  • Hey SHS Ski and Snowboarders! With the great success of our ski trips this year, we’ve decided to go even bigger next winter. Next season we will be heading to Mont Bromont for an Epic 3-Day Ski Trip! The trip will take place during the third week of February. To help everyone learn more about the trip, there will be a Student and Parent Information Session on March 24th at 6:00 pm in the Drama Room. Make sure to check out the posters around the school for more details, and be sure to let your parent/guardian know about the meeting. Please note that this trip is open to intermediate and advanced skiers and snowboarders only. We’re excited to make this an incredible experience for SHS students!   • Girls' rugby practices this week are Today and Wednesday. Today’s girls' rugby practice starts at 3:45 in the cafeteria, and on Wednesday is 2:45 in the main gym. Come join this amazing group of hard-working girls. There are no cuts, so anyone who wants to try a sport has a chance to be a part of something. Get your name added to the Google Classroom and come try a few practices. See Mr. McLagan in room 215 to get signed up. New players from all grades are welcome.   • Did you know the dance will be in the gym? You can invite friends from other schools. There will be a raffle at the dance, DJ Dexter is taking requests, and a bubble machine is in the works.

  • There is a meeting on Wednesday at lunch for all girls playing rugby this year. The next girls' rugby practice is tomorrow, Wednesday, March 11th, at 2:45 in the main gym. If you are interested in playing other spring sports, you can be on more than one team at the same time, except you can’t do both rugby and soccer. If you get cut from soccer, you are welcome at rugby, but you should show up at some of each of the practices so both coaches know that you are interested in playing. Rugby helps to build your strength, fitness, and confidence while learning a new sport. There are no cuts, so anyone who wants to be involved has a chance to be a part of something. Get your name added to the Google Classroom and come try a few practices. See Mr. McLagan in room 215 to get signed up. New players from all grades are welcome.
