Monday, Jan. 12, 2026  

• Student Council meeting today in room 105 at lunch. All are welcome. Come share your ideas for the school. - Plumb 

• Concert band will pause until the start of the second semester to let students focus on Syd's Cafe and studies, but please see Mr. Jackson briefly at lunch on Wednesday so he can hand out music for you to practice over the exam break. 

• Did anyone lose their winter coat before Christmas break?  There was a nice black Columbia winter coat left in the health room there the week before the holiday, when Mr. Cook's classes were using that classroom while his room was being painted.  If the coat is yours, then please come see Mr. Cook upstairs in his regular room anytime. - Cook 

• Join us this Thursday at lunch at the investing club. Ms. Wallace and Mr. Reade are going to chat about green industry stocks, gold, and other hot commodities. It's all happening in the library and is the last gathering of the semester. - Wallace 

• Home room classes are distributing book return slips this morning. Please get your books back to the library ASAP. If you need your book a little longer for a summative assignment, please visit Ms. Wallace to let her know. - Wallace 

• Hey SHS skiers & snowboarders! School-Day is open for our second ski trip to Calabogie on the 26th of February. We're trying for two buses again. Don’t miss out on the fun opportunity. - Hammer 

• The Girls Hockey game scheduled for today at 3:30 pm at Frontenac Arena is cancelled - Slate

Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2026

• Track North has begun! This is a group of Sydenham students that are either training for fun, fitness, to get stronger for another sport, or prepare for track and field in the spring. We offer long runs, sprint training, and weight room workouts before and after school. Our schedule is flexible, meaning you can join and train, even if you are busy with other sports or clubs. Please see Mr. Shibley or Mr. Lee for more information, or to join! - Shibley
