Daily Announcements

Monday

Monday, Nov. 10, 2025

  • Student Council meeting today in room 105 at lunch. All are welcome. Come share your ideas for the school. - Plumb

  • The SHS Concert Band meets today after school from 2:45 - 4:00 pm. New members are always welcome! - Jackson

  • On Tuesday, November 11, Remembrance Day, we honour those who made and make the ultimate contribution and commitment to our Nation. To help you learn about those experiences, we have profiled a collection of books and other resources in our Library. It is important we not only remember but learn and gain insights from the experiences of others--these are the past, present and potentially future threads of our collective fabric known as Canada. - Wallace

  • This announcement is for every guy in the school who plays ice hockey and likes to have fun with friends.   No matter what grade you are in or what your skill level is, you are invited to an information meeting in Mr. Cook’s classroom (room 107) at the beginning of lunch this Wednesday to find out about the schoolhouse league and varsity hockey program here at SHS.  If you can’t make the meeting, then please see Mr. Cook anytime in room 107 for more info and/or a registration form. - Cook

  • Golden Eagles, this Monday, it is really important we start the process of understanding our actual Treaty responsibilities as Treaty citizens. We go to school on the Traditional Territories of the Haudenosaunee and Anishinaabe, and we are told that in 1783 these lands, upon which our school sits, are part of the Crawford Purchase. There is no written treaty document that survives about this, just passages in letters. As a pledge in this morning's Land Acknowledgement, let's commit to learning more about the important agreements which have shaped our relationships, past and present.
