- Hey Sydenham, did you know that next week marks the start of the Kwanzaa celebration, including here in Canada? A seven-day festivity that starts on December 26, Kwanzaa is celebrated to honor African American culture, heritage, and unity. It is a cultural, non-religious holiday created to empower and unite Black communities, foster pride in their history, and encourage collective responsibility and self-determination. - Wallace
- Golden Eagles it is time to celebrate the wonders of this planet. This Sunday, December 21st, is the Winter Solstice. It marks the shortest day and longest night of the year, symbolizing rebirth and renewal as the days begin to lengthen again. Today, in our Northern Hemisphere, the sun is at it's furthest point from the equator. For many, the Winter Solstice is an important time of festivity? - Wallace
- Track North has begun! This is a group of Sydenham students that are either training for fun, fitness, to get stronger for another sport, or prepare for track and field in the spring. We offer long runs, sprint training, and weight room workouts before and after school. Our schedule is flexible, meaning you can join and train, even if you are busy with other sports or clubs. Please see Mr. Shibley or Mr. Lee for more information, or to join! - Shibley
