- Student Council meeting today in room 105 at lunch. All are welcome. Come share your ideas for the school.
- The SHS Concert Band meets today after school from 2:45 - 4:00 pm. New members are always welcome!
- The snow is gone, and that means that track and field meets are happening outdoors! This week is the LAST week to join the team for this season! Practices are every day after school, meaning you can join, even if you are playing another sport. We are especially looking for people in long jump, triple jump, shot put, discus and javelin! Please see Mr. Shibley if you have any questions!
- In a world that is so dependent on the internet for shopping, mailing, and posting pictures of cute cats, how will society function? Not well, as it turns out. The Day the Internet Died hilariously explores how inept we are at dating, research, and basic human interactions when we don't have a screen to look at. Tickets for the SHS spring play, The Day the Internet Died, are now available on School Day! We have three evening shows on May 6, 7 and 8 at 7:00 pm in the drama room. All ages are welcome. The show is approximately 80 minutes, and there will be an intermission. You don't want to miss it!
- 2 days until the Relay for Life launch party!
- Make plans on Thursday to stay after school and support your girls’ rugby teams. The senior girls played two tough matches last Friday against Frontenac and NDSS. Dakota Henderson and Leah Brawley took home Player of the Match honours for running through the opposition and fiercely driving them off the ruck. In junior action tries by Abby Shay, Claire Zuliniak, Mary Gargaro, and Sophia Doolittle led the junior girls to a 22 to 5 win over Frontenac. Abby Shay took home the player of the match honours. The girls are having lots of fun learning this game and playing together. We are mid-season, but if you wanted to come and give this sport a try, you could still join us. See Mr. McLagan or Ms. Ward if you are interested.

- Wednesday, April 22nd is officially known as Administrative Appreciation Day and salutes the contributions of all those who help run an organization. We have a school full of incredible people who make things run at Sydenham High School (office, student services, custodial and educational staff). Meanwhile, this specific announcement is to express gratitude to Principal Molly Slate and our vice Principals Mr. Duncan Cowan and Miss Ashley Ward. They each have their roles, but together they bridge the demands of the Provincial Government, our Limestone District School Board visions and constraints and the realities of our home school. Thank you each for all of your hard work.
- Need volunteer hours? Harrowsmith Public School is looking for volunteers to help out at their Fun Fair on June 5th. Help with games, face painting, or the canteen. Dinner is included. See Mr. McDougall for details.
- It's the middle of the school term and time to bring back any of the library books you've got sitting in your classrooms, lockers, cars, or rooms. Stop by and renew any you want to keep for a bit longer. Keeping our books available is really important. Thank you for helping.
- One week until the relay for life launch party!
