This summer marks a truly historic moment for stock sport in Canada.
For the first time ever, a Canadian U16 team will compete on the international stage, travelling to Oberwart, Austria—the heartland of Eisstock—to represent Canada at an International Ice Stock Federation youth tournament. What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that it has grown from the grassroots level through the efforts of the South Frontenac Stocksport Club.
In a sport with deep European roots and generations of tradition, these young athletes are not just participating—they are making history as the first youth to compete for Canada in this sport. In doing so, they are helping open the door for future youth to discover a different path in sport—one that can lead to incredible opportunities.
