Welcome Back SHS Golden Eagles!
As the new school year begins, we are thrilled to welcome both new and returning members of our school community. Whether you're stepping into our halls for the first time or returning after a well-deserved summer break, we’re so glad you are a Golden Eagle!
This year promises to be full of learning, growth, and connection. To prepare our students for a smooth start to the school year, you will find information below. Our dedicated staff are working hard to prepare engaging lessons, exciting activities, and a supportive environment where every student can thrive.
We encourage families to stay connected through our newsletters (available on the website), school events, and classroom updates. Your involvement makes a world of difference, and we’re grateful for your partnership. Please reach out to the school at any point if you have questions.

School Council 2025-2026 & Elections
Welcome to Sydenham High School! We are the School Advisory Council SAC, for SHS. We are parents/guardians that gather once a month to collaborate, participate and contribute to the education of students in our school. Education is a partnership and it is an active involvement and advisory involving parents, students, teachers, principals, school boards, government and the community.
Join us on Sept. 22, 2025 for our first meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. If you would like to attend virtually, please email slatem@limestone.on.ca. The focus of our meetings is information sharing and discussion.
Elections
SHS SAC attendees usually consist of our principal, a staff representative, a student representative, a community representative and parents. If interested in having a role (formal or informal), fill in the following form.
Your SAC looks forward to seeing you at our first meeting on Sept.22!
Student Medical Plans
We ask parents to notify the school about their child’s emergency medical conditions and complete a one-page Plan of Care Form (Epilepsy, Type 1 Diabetes, Asthma, Anaphylaxis, or any other life-threatening condition). If the school already has a plan on file from previous years, we ask that you review the plan and notify the school of any changes.
Plans can be found online: https://www.limestone.on.ca/medical-procedures
Lockers
Students must use a school lock and occupy lockers assigned to them. Students will be responsible for items found in the locker and should not give their combination to anyone else. Failure to abide by school rules may mean a loss of locker privileges. Lockers may be opened by the school if necessary.
Food Service
The cafeteria will be closed for the first two weeks of school in order to provide required training and set-up. We will announce when our hospitality program will be up and running. There will be some grab-and-go items as always for students needing access available right away.
Yearbooks 2024-2025
Yearbooks will be available for the past school year for those who purchased in September. Further communication will be sent once they are available for pick up.
Service Dog
This year we will continue to have our service dog, Mattis, present onsite primarily on Wednesdays. Please remember not to pet Mattis without permission of the handler. As this is a requirement of human rights legislation, notification is hereby provided to our school community. The dog has been certified as a registered service animal and identified by a navy blue service animal jacket and badge (Kingston 4 Paws Service Dog).
