What's Happening at Sydenham High School
Midterm Report Cards
April has been a busy month and as we move into May, we pass the halfway point of the semester. Midterm report cards were distributed this past Friday during period 1. If you have questions about your student's achievement, please reach out first to their classroom teacher. The schedule for June exams will be coming out shortly. Please ensure your student is available within the exam window (Grade 12: June 16 - 17; Grade 9 - 12: June 18 to 24th).

SHS Bingo - Thank you!
Thank you to all our supporters who attended our first SHS Bingo on April 22nd. We had a great turnout for a delicious meal and socializing with our community. We plan to run another Bingo in the fall, with proceeds going to enhance learning experiences for students at SHS. Thank you also to several local businesses for donating prizes to raise money for our K4Paws service dog: Deep Rooted Massage, Hartington Equipment, Sydenham Pet and Farm Supply, and SHS Staff.

Signup using website: www.relayforlife.ca/sydenham
We also welcome cancer survivors to walk the ceremonial lap and community volunteers interested in supporting the event. Please reach out to Mrs. Slate (slatem@limestone.on.ca) if you know someone who would like to participate.
Syd"s Cafe
Our tradition of Syd's Cafe continues this spring with a show to highlight our SHS students. Please save the date of May 21st and be ready to listen to amazing performances with a Canadian theme! We hope to see you there!
The Day the Internet Died
In a world that is so dependent on the internet for shopping, mailing, and posting pictures of cute cats, how will society function without the internet? Not well as it turns out. The Day the Internet Died hilariously explores how inept we are at dating, research, and basic human interactions when we don't have a screen to look at.
Tickets for the SHS spring play, The Day the Internet Died, are now available on School Day and on Ticket Scene! We have three evening shows on May 6, 7 and 8 at 7:00pm in the drama room. All ages are welcome. The show is approximately 80 minutes and there will be an intermission.

Concussion Protocol
SHS is committed to student safety, injury prevention, and well-being, and supports concussion awareness, prevention, identification, management, tracking, and training. Our point of contact is Ms. Ash Ward, Vice Principal.
Our LDSB Concussion Policy/Concussion Code of Conduct is here as well to ensure we work together to support our students if a concussion is suspected or diagnosed.
