Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is Seeking Expression of Interest
The Limestone District School Board is seeking expressions of interest from individuals[EL1] interested in joining the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) in support of the ongoing Student Census 2025 project.
The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group is to provide advice, perspectives, and recommendations related to the design of data collection methods, analysis, and the representation of results for LDSB’s Student Census. TAG plays a critical role in ensuring that multiple and diverse perspectives are applied to the interpretation of data, helping to minimize bias and strengthen the relevance and integrity of findings.
We are seeking expressions of interest for the committee for the September 2026 to August 2028 term. We welcome expressions of interest from all members of the Limestone community, including those who can help us fill the following vacancies:
- One to two parents of a Limestone student(s) who is not an employee of the LDSB
- A Limestone school administrator
- One or more Limestone secondary students
- One community partner member who works alongside LDSB
Experience in data collection, analysis, and/or reporting of identity‑based data is encouraged; however, individuals with a broad range of research or analysis backgrounds and/or lived experiences are encouraged to apply. In general, members of the TAG will be able to offer diverse perspectives and/or lived experiences including (but not limited to) anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Semitism, Ableism/Disabilities, Homophobia, Transphobia, Islamophobia, geographical diversity (e.g., urban, rural), and/or Poverty/Classism. An understanding of the Anti-Racism Data Standards is an asset.
Members of the Technical Advisory Group contribute to meaningful, community‑informed research and participate in collaborative discussions that shape how Student Census data are understood and communicated.
Please note that all members of the TAG are expected to complete the Fundamentals of OCAP training as a condition of their membership. This online course takes about 7 hours to complete, and costs are covered by the LDSB.
How to express interest:
Individuals interested in joining TAG are invited to submit an expression of interest outlining relevant experience, perspectives, and interest in the work. Submissions will be reviewed to ensure a balance of skills, expertise, and lived experience.
Before expressing your interest, please review our Terms of Reference.
You can submit online here, or submit a paper copy, which are available at the board office (220 Portsmouth Ave) by 11:59 pm on Friday June 12, 2026.
The purpose of the Technical Advisory Group (TAG) is to give advice, opinions and make recommendations in the design of methods for secondary data analysis (e.g., determining disparities and disproportionalities among student outcomes based on identity) and representation of results (e.g., specifically how the information is reported and shared). Most importantly, the purpose of the TAG is to ensure that multiple perspectives are applied to the analysis of Student Census data to minimize the risk of bias.
The TAG is comprised of members who offer diverse perspectives and/or lived experience including (but not limited to) anti-Black racism, anti-Indigenous racism, anti-Semitism, Ableism/Disabilities, Homophobia, Transphobia, Islamophobia, and/or Poverty/Classism. Members have experience in the collection, analysis, and reporting of identity-based data and will be receiving the Fundamentals of OCAP® training.
