Dear Families,

June is always a time of reflection as we complete one school year and continue preparations for the next school year. It is also a time of celebration across the system as students graduate and enjoy end-of-year activities. As we enter the last week of school, secondary students are in the midst of final exams and end-of-semester, summative assessments. For elementary students, the last day of school is Thursday, June 29 as Friday, June 30 is a Professional Activity day for Limestone staff.

With many exciting things to focus on during this time of year, I want to send a quick reminder about the LDSB’s strategic planning consultation that ends June 30. If you have not already participated, please complete the quick, anonymous online survey to share your feedback. The question we are asking you is: If there was one key thing you wanted to share with school staff to let them know what helps your student(s) learn, what would it be?

To participate, please visit https://bit.ly/StratPlanSurvey-ParentsGuardians to enter your feedback and then consider the input of others

One more reminder: The first day of school for students for the 2023-2024 school year will be Tuesday, September 5, 2023, following the Labour Day holiday. You can view and download the full school year calendar on the board website

Today, Education Minister Stephen Lecce released messages for Ontario families, students and graduates. Here are links to the written message, the school year-end video message for students, and a special congratulations video message for the graduates of 2023.

I wish students and families a healthy and happy summer. I hope you have an opportunity to participate in summer activities you enjoy. Be safe and have fun! Thank you for a wonderful school year, and I look forward to connecting with you again this fall.
